VRR APP - Verkehrsverbund RheinRuhr
New design, easy usability and new functions such as trip overview, commuters feature, ticket purchase, fault reports, personal favorites and more – the Verkehrsverbund RheinRuhr (VRR, RheinRuhr linked transport system) promotes the digitization of local public transport. The new app does not only meet the users’ mobile demand but also the high standards of accessibility.

The creative premise in designing the UI was transferability: It was all about creating a white label solution that can be used by all transportation companies that are part of the linked transport system and adapted to their respective corporate design. Based on the Ionic framework, templates and modules were established and the elements’ behavior was set and programed.

The linked transport system Verkehrsverbund RheinRuhr (VRR) is the most populous system and the biggest local transport agglomeration in Europe. Its fare network reaches from the lower Rhine in the west to the eastern Ruhr area.
